I want to eat dosa with her every morning
We always like to nibble here. Every time a different great little something to try and enjoy ? The delicious, savory and sweet things are draped on the window and the friendly owner is happy to warm up the fresh things ? I really have to try the big dishes.
The samosas with delicious chutneys and the masala chai at the window sales were very tasty. Very friendly, gladly again!
Since Covid there has been a window / street sale with small items and snacks (in addition to the regular take away and the restaurant business [which is of course closed in November]). ? As for the regular menu: authentic cuisine, super tasty. Good vegetarian selection.
I discovered the shop about 6 weeks ago and now I am a guest there 3 times a week. The food is very tasty, varied and very inexpensive. The kitchen makes a very clean and tidy impression. The food is freshly prepared by the manager of the shop, who also does the service at the same time. Unfortunately, the shop is closed due to the current corona pandemic and the associated regulation. But, I can recommend the restaurant to everyone when it reopens for on-site consumption. It is very cozy and familiar. The menu offers a large selection of dishes, especially for vegetarians. These are usually served in a tray. There is always lentil soup, naan and cabbage!
I loved like feeling eating at somebody's home. A cozy atmosphere and a lovely lady servicing. Do not yourself be fooled by the simple interior. The food is amazing and great value for money. All dishes are proper, authentic cuisine from Sri Lanka. Lassis are great. 10/10 recommended. I will visit again. When the room is full, service might be a bit slower. Bear that in mind.
If I could, I will give negative stars.... I have been there 3 times over the last years. I am not sure if it is intentional, but the food was spoiled each time. So unless you wanna have a blast from the wrong end... think twice before going there. Once I ordered to check if it got any better and directly threw it away. I wish I could say anything better... I hope they improve....
Authentic, tasty and totally friendly.
If one wants to try authentic south indian food this is the best place in Cologne. Must try fish fry with idiyappam, Masala Dosa, Vadai. This is a place for food that taste good. Not for people who prefer good ambience and not food. I had visited with 2 of my friends and we completely forget to take pictures as the taste was delicious.
Mega tasty and personable staff! I will definitely visit a second time!
I did not like the factor that I was being ignored and not attended for 27 Minutes which made me lose my patient so I had to walk away. The moment I entered there was only two tables occupied, The moment the lady who was waiting passed by my table I greeted her in Tamil and then after that she went on asking the people at other table attending them and even serving them. I was not even asked once to wait that I will be attended later and no one even asked me, When the lady got free from other customers she came to take order and said we kept you waiting as you are Tamil and our priority is to attend German customers. This is super racial profiling and I was offended by it.
Pre-made and half fried food is made early in the morning and served all day by re-heating or deep frying it again, Which obviously makes the food lose it's actual flavour. Hence if you are looking for true Sri-Lankan or South Indian flavour then sorry to say this place is not for you. Moreover the hygiene is the worst part as they do not take care of cleanliness at all.
Very friendly staff and the food taste good.
Horrible, Horrendous !! The AUNTY serving the food had absolute zero hygeine. Went there twice, First time I had a food poisoning and I gave them benefit of doubt however second time was worst I was throwing up for days and was even hospitalized. Please avoid if you eat clean food but if you don't care about hygeine you can go and eat the dirt straight out from the AUNTY's nails.
Very authentic and lovable. There are many delicious regional dishes, such as dosas or kottu, that are not offered in other Indian restaurants.
Just one star for the hygiene, ambience and food quality . Try to avoid.
Very tasty, friendly, honest, familiar and just good! No chin-ups ...
Very good restaurant, as simple as it is friendly
I would definitely recommend this place. Although it does not tastes like Indian food but it is affordable and better. The lady who runs the restaurant is so sweet and with a very pleasing attitude. Although she runs the restaurant, she also cooks and serves the customers. It is a small restaurant with simple ambience. The food is just like home made. There are also Indian grocery stores near by. Cards are not accepted, only cash ?
Super delicious authentic Tamil food. The service is simply warm and nice.
The food seemed to be warmed, not freshly made. My honest review is, don’t waste your money on SriLankan foods in Köln.
Tasty Indian food
Eat !! Eat !! Eat !!
Our favorite Indian restaurant here in Cologne. If you like it authentic and without much frills, this is the place for you. Our service was totally lovely and an excellent cook. Always my pleasure!:)
As an Indian, i would say that i had the most fulfilling meal in this place. I have been looking for a authentic Indian restaurant to eat, and i can say that my search has ended now. The lady who runs this place has the most sweetest smile on her face. Would highly recommend it.
This restaurant has de facto potential to become my new favorite restaurant, where you can get both: friendly and brisk waiter. The restaurant is easy to reach! The good transport connections make a jaunt there quick and it blew us away completely. Great value for money.
Amazing home made Indian food
Great authentic food and sweet hosts We have been eating here for years and love the sweet owners and simple atmosphere. A vegan Kottu, garlic naan and Mango Lassi is all you need for a perfect Sunday afternoon. Great for vegetarians or vegans as they have a variety of healthy l, delicious plant based food.
Great People and GREAT Sri Lankan FOOD. I saw many negative reviews from people who were dissapointed not to find Indian cousine. Of course the Sri Lankan cousine is different to Indian. it's like going to a Polish restaurant and asking for German food. They also have a shop to buy fruits and vegetables next door.
Very very tasty food. This restaurant personally makes me feel like I'm eating at home. Incredibly friendly staff and really delicious food. I will visit the restaurant again soon so that I can continue browsing the menu!
Best south-indian/ Sri lankan kitchen in town. If you like authentic food that’s cooked with love and dont carr about fancy places this is the best choice :)!!!
This restaurant is must visit place in cologne. People are here from Srilanka. They cook very special and tasty food. It's not a big restaurant but for the price you pay it's worth it. I have been into this place many times. I enjoyed the food. Looking forward to visit again in summer. I would like to recommend you guys do visit if you have any plans to go to cologne... I liked it.
Was throwing up for days after visiting this place. My friends who were having a lunch with me there were absolutely fine, tho. Not sure what happened that day, but I'm not gonna eat there anymore for sure
Love the idli
Nice simple little place. Affordable and the owner is very nice.
Service is very slow and quality of the dosa is ok.
Such a worse food , the chicken kothu parota doesn't have any taste and dosa is so sour.no value for money.
Delicious and cozy space!
Good service! Bad lassi! Ok food.
That was a really bad experience yesterday. When I entered the shop, I already had a bad feeling. The food was really not good. The chicken came open again hours later. My lady's spinach ended up in the toilet a short time later. That was probably not okay. Not recommended - on the contrary.
Super good food with lots on the plates and friendly owners. Good service!
Original cuisine from Sri Lanka. Great selection of appetizers and main courses. The interior is a bit used to, but otherwise the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Friendly owner. A good and interesting alternative to the other Indians in Cologne.
Delicious food, lovely staff.
Very bad food quality.
Kind of south India food.
Food is really good and price is also cheap
Nice restaurant of you want to have Sri Lankan, Indian food. The ladies (owners) were really nice.
This place seems really authentic to me and the food was incredibly good. The interior is simple but I like how they don't try to be anything they aren't. Seems like a place indians would go to eat.
Unfortunately, the restaurant does not have any charm. You wouldnt want to visit once again. They dont keep it clean. The food ordered had the same taste of a typical curry. Nothing indian about it.
The host aunty is great .. she serves, cooks and engages the guest. She is the only one but can make u a perfect Indian dish which pleases Germans too. You too have time and patience when there are many customers.
